Founded by Grace Brown, Project Unbreakable is a kind of platform for sexual assault/rape survivors to quote the people who assaulted them. In my opinion, it’s a great way to voice and open up about the assault/s, as part of the healing process. And for those who have healed or are largely healed (like myself), it’s a great way to encourage those who haven’t found the courage to reclaim (for lack of a better way of putting it) themselves again.
In it’s own way it reminds me of the To Write Love On Her Arms organization which is there to help people struggling with suicide, depression, self-injury and addiction instead of rape/sexual assault. The point of foundations/organizations like these is that people need each other- as much as we seem to be mastering breaking each other- there are people amongst us willing to walk on the kind side of life. As they so aptly put it: “People need other people”. There’s hope.
