“Hey. You a dreamer? I haven’t seen too many around lately. It’s been tough lately for dreamers. They say dreaming is dead and no one does it anymore. It’s not dead- it’s just that it’s been forgotten. Removed from our language. Nobody teaches it so no one knows it exists. Dreamers are banished to obscurity. I’m trying to change that now and I hope that you are too. By dreaming everyday. Dreaming with our hands and dreaming with our minds. Our planet is facing the greatest problems its ever faced. Ever. So whatever you do, don’t be bored. This is absolutely the most exciting time we could possibly hope to be alive. And things are just starting.”

This quote is from the animated film Waking Life (2001) by Richard Linklater, which looks at different aspects of life through the “nature of dreams, consciousness, and existentialism”. The ‘conversations’/monologues/interactions in the film are riveting and deeply interrogative of the individual- which I love. A film definitely worth checking out 🙂
